UMAM D&R felt that due to the unique moment and rapidly changing dynamics on the ground in Lebanon, and specifically for the Lebanese Shia community, there was a valuable opportunity for interviews to be undertaken with activists and individuals related to the Shiite situation in Lebanon. Therefore, during this period the project undertook around 52 interviews with activists concerned with the Shiite reality from different backgrounds, in order to document the current experiences and record various perspectives of the radical changes in the Shia situation in Lebanon. The interviews allowed for interviewees to speak about their upbringing and lives; formative experiences; experiences of periods of violence in Lebanon; perspectives on the current period of conflict in Lebanon and its impact on the Shia community, its losses, gains, future, and questions of the community's relationship with other groups in Lebanon.
